Don’t panic…this is rather painless!! Without a doubt you are wondering ” What’s using a travel agent really going to cost me?” Amazingly, the answer is most often absolutely nothing!! How is this possible? Its really quite simple. Travel agent incomes are predominantly commission based. They are not payed by individual clients whom they book travel for, but instead are payed by travel suppliers and providers within the industry for promoting and selling their services. In some cases travel can be non-commissionable to agents, therefore, they charge a small service fee for the time they invest. As for customized vacations, we sometimes require a deposit upfront, which will be applied in full to your trip if you book thru us. This allows our company to be compensated for our services. If your trip requires an upfront deposit we will discuss it with you before going further. Please understand we are not out to get your money! Our goal is to save you money and provide our expertise to guarantee you will want to use us again for all your future travel ventures!
Service fees are very rare. Domestic Flights booked thru Passport & Duffel Bag usually incur a small service fee, unless they are part of a complete package, due to the fact Domestic Airlines do not offer commission to travel agents any longer. Again, you will always be notified of these fees in advance of booking. Please do not hesitate to ask us if you have any questions.
